The Cost of Silence

Anonymous submission
Listen to this submission

I spent twenty years in the federal public service before retiring. During that time, I witnessed billions of taxpayer dollars being poured into programs that everyone internally knew were failing. But no one dared to speak up publicly. The culture of silence in Ottawa is not just about politics; it's about self-preservation.

When you work in the public service, the choice is stark. If you speak up, your career is over. If you stay quiet, you become complicit in the waste and inefficiency. I've seen it time and time again. This platform is long overdue, offering a voice to those who have been silenced for far too long.
